What do you need to know about the Mountain Scrambles?

Scrambling is a blend of mountain walking and easy rock climbing, where the horizontal world meets the vertical and is very rewarding as it takes you off the beaten track into steeper mountainous ground.

There are some fantastic classic scrambles in the Lake District. Routes can range from a few short obstacles to overcoming long exposed ridges or buttresses that may require rope work to safeguard. You’ll cover lots of ground during the day, whilst learning some of the essential skills to venture out next time by yourself.

Perfect for those with little or no scrambling experience, all that’s needed is a good head for heights and the ability to move confidently on exposed but technically straight forward terrain. If you are already a hill walker but want to venture in to steeper more challenging terrain, this is a perfect day for you.

NOTE: This activity is not suitable young groups.
