What do you need to know about a Canoe River Journey?

For those wanting to explore. From the seat of your canoe you can see parts of the Lake District not accessible by any other means. You'll learn the basics of canoeing from your instructor as you visit the islands and inlets of Derwentwater, and enjoying a hot a drink boiled over an open fire.

We can guarantee that after a period of training from our instructors on a lake you will be ready to tackle your first 'white water' river trip!

If this is your first time on moving water or even in a canoe you'll be amazed at how the boat 'comes alive' in its natural environment! As the river carries us along we may see herons and kingfishers and will tackle several stretches of small white water rapids, all whilst being surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in England!

This is an ideal day out for a family or group of friends who would like a relaxed journey through stunning scenery. We will be out all day but will take regular breaks to sit and enjoy our surrounding.
