Freelance Leader Engagement

Leader Engagement Process 

If you have the attributes and skills to add to our dynamic and professional team, please begin the engagement process:

1) Complete the online 'Be Part of the Team' form

We use on online platform called Liveforce to capture all of our Leaders information and manage the Leader Engagement process. If you've all information to hand, the application process should take between 15 - 30 minutes to complete. Before you start this process, please ensure that you have all of your qualifications and certificates ready to upload in a PDF or JPEG format. Have available:

  • All relevant outdoor qualifications
  • Proof of your right to work in the UK (passport, driving license etc) 
  • Evidence of being subscribed to the DBS update service 
  • Current First Aid certificate

NOTE: At this stage, work is not guaranteed. We will allocate staff based on completion of the Leader Engagement process and their suitability of qualifications and experience for the client.

2) Agree to the terms in the Leader Agreement

As part of the 'Be Part of the Team' online application process, potential leaders are asked to read and agree to the terms laid out with the 'Leader Agreement'. The agreement is valid for 1 year. Acceptance of the terms within the agreement are stored with your Liveforce profile.

3) Job Opportunity Notifications

Leaders registered through Liveforce will receive regular 'Job Opportunity' notifications. The notifications will outline: the work available, dates, client and the associated pay. From the Job Opportunity notifications, leaders are able to express their interest to work. Please allow up to 72 hours for a response to inform you of the status of your request.

NOTE: On your phone/device, ensure you have notification alerts switched on for the Liveforce app.

4) Invitation to interview for new staff (Face-to-Face or Online).

Following a review of your application and before a new leader is appointed a piece of work, potential leaders will be invited to a video conversation or a face-to-face meeting with Ben Keen - Managing Director. This will be an informal conversation so we can find out a little more about each other. It is imperative for us to ensure we engage the right staff for our clients, and equally that we are the right company for you.

5) Induction and Leader Handbook

The Leader Handbook has all documents and processes relevant to a Leaders employment. Includes; Risk Assessments, Operating Procedures, Emergency procedures and Safeguarding Procedures etc.

Leaders will undertake an online or in-person induction session to ensure an understanding of the company policies and processes.

6) Leaders Briefing

Prior to the start of the programme leaders will receive a 'Leader Briefing'. This is conducted in a number of different ways to suit you, the employee. This may be completed via email, online or through group messaging and will be with the other staff you may be working with. This briefing will highlight any changes to the programme and any specific information required to deliver the programme.

7) Invoices

The leader will provide an invoice for their services and expenses as outlined in the Job Advert in Liveforce. The invoice will outline the work carried out including dates. Invoices will be paid where ever possible, but not exclusively, with in 48 hours. Where leaders are required to complete Post Expedition Reports, these are to be received with in 14 days. Invoices will be paid on receipt. 


STANDARD PAY RATES

Leader Day Rate: £120 - £180

Half Day Rate: £70

Evening Rate: £20 (in addition to Leader Day Rate, but only applicable on some programmes)

Overnight Supervision Rate: £45 (includes evening rate)

Travel Expenses (not available on all programmes): 0.45p per mile (after the first 20 miles of each day) up to a total limit of £100.

NOTES

  • Leaders pay will be detailed with in the Job Advert in Liveforce.
  • Programme Coordinator day rates are variable based on the programme. The rate will be discussed with the individual.
  • Certain challenge events and specialist development days have variable day rates based on the length of the day worked and/or the level of responsibility undertaken.
