Route and ‘Relay’ option has returned!

Teams work together to complete the three elements of this adventure triathlon challenge, pedalling, paddling and trekking. This is a great opportunity for team bonding with friends, family or colleagues. You’ll reach peak fitness as you train for this full-day, full-body workout in the outdoors!

FOR 2026!

Fancy working as a relay team in this year's challenge? Join our ‘Relay2’ or ‘Relay4’ and have the option for teams of 4-12 people who will tag team their way around the course.

‘Relay2’ – In a group of 4-6 people, there will be 2 of your team on each full stage of the course and tagging each other in at basecamp in Glenridding. You must have 2 on the course at all times, though how you choose to split the route is up to you.

‘Relay4’ – In a team of 6-12 people there will be 4 of your team on each full stage of the course, tagging each other in at basecamp in Glenridding. You must have 4 on the course at all times, though how you choose to split the route is up to you.

On average, the event takes eight to nine hours to complete and we strongly advise training for the event. The longest element of the event is the mountain climb, which will take four - five hours.

Bikes

You will cycle a total of 22 miles, taking you along the shores of Ullswater, and surround yourself with the Lake District peaks.

The route has nearly 600m of elevation and has a mixed bag roads. Starting and finishing with undulating road along the side of the picturesque Ullswater before turning left and on to the largest climb of the route towards Dockray. After this, it weaves its way through quiet lanes passing stunning hamlets and villages before returning on the lake road back to Glenridding.

Boats

Grab a paddle and canoe a two-mile route on stunning Ullswater. It will take teamwork to complete this element, as you paddle as part of two connected canoe boats, creating a stable craft to keep your team together.

Boots

Trek to the summit of the third highest peak in England, the magnificent Helvellyn. A six-mile round trip that will reward you with incredible views across the Lake District to take in your achievement.

Exclusions

Bike and Helmet. This event suited to a road bike or hybrid bike.
Lunch. You will need to provide your own lunch and snacks. However, there will be a water station which includes snacks and drinks.

Eden Valley Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialist care for adults in north Cumbria who have life limiting conditions. In addition, we also provide care for their families, friends and carers.

All the care the hospice provides to its patients and their families is free at the point of delivery.
