Event Summary
'Bikes, Boats and Boots' is a hearty tri-challenge that requires stamina and determination to complete.
Starting in Keswick, teams begin with a 40 mile bike ride, followed by a 2 mile canoe or kayak on Derwentwater, one of the Lake District's most picturesque lakes. Then to finish off, teams hike 11 miles to the top of Skiddaw, the 6th highest peak in the UK.

Key Information
Cycling
DISTANCE: 40 miles
DURATION: 3-4 hours
Teams of 2 or 4 set off in the saddle from the event hub in Keswick around the imposing Skiddaw mountain on winding roads sure to warm up the legs and get the heart pounding. Among some of the highest mountains in the UK, Skiddaw dominates the skyline as a constant reminder that you’ll soon be heading for the summit on foot!
Returning back to the event hub in Keswick, you'll have the chance to change and refuel before starting on the next section.
Paddling
DISTANCE: 2 Miles
DURATION: 1 Hour
Bouyancy aids on, grab a paddle - it's time to get on the water. In open canoes, rafted together, or 2-person kayaks, your team will navigate a canoe course on Derwentwater, a beautiful lake nestled in the glorious valley of Borrowdale.
No canoe experience is necessary, and we'll provide everything you need, just bring some clothes you don't mind getting wet and a sense of adventure!
Trekking
DISTANCE: 11 Miles
DURATION: 5 - 6 Hours
Now just the small matter of summiting Skiddaw at an altitude of 931m. Looking down on and tormenting you all day so far, now's the time to get your own back! The hike climbs toward Latrigg on the outskirts of Keswick before the path gets steeper, zig-zagging ever onward and upward.
Standing on the summit you'll look out over the whole route you’ve completed. All that is left to do is retrace your footsteps back to the finish line to take your applause and revel in all that you have achieved.
