What is an Open Expedition?

• A date-flexible Expedition option for individuals 
• Not tied to a specific school or group 
  
• Often, most people within the group don’t know each other 
  
• Training, skills, activities, learning and Award requirements remain the same 

An Open Expedition might be right for you if...

• You don’t have access to DofE through your school or group  
• You can’t make your school DofE Expedition dates 
  
• You require additional support 
  
• You need flexibility with dates and locations 
  
• You like to meet new people and build friendships

What to expect on The Adventure Element Open Expeditions? 

A warm welcome awaits!  We are always just a phone call, or email, away if you have any questions or concerns.  We understand that joining a group of people you haven’t met before can sometimes be daunting.   

Our friendly team will ensure you have an enjoyable, challenging but rewarding, and memorable Expedition experience - with our full support throughout.  

What’s included when you book an Open Expedition? 

• Dedicated contact for ongoing communication, help, questions and support 
• Clear Expedition plan with routes, logistics and dates 
  
• Expedition guide, which includes helpful resources and links 
  
• Campsite bookings 
  
• Use of group equipment if required 
  
• Supportive instructors, qualified as Summer Mountain Leaders 
  
• DBS-checked instructors 
  
• Use of GSM tracking for safety and monitoring of each group
