Let’s get outside and have an adventure!

We’re very proud of the Duke of Edinburgh Expedition programmes we deliver each year.  Playing a very small part in the DofE journey committed to by young people, helping them build confidence, giving them responsibility and the opportunity to explore the outdoors.

However, we understand that for many reasons the DofE Award isn’t for everyone, but having adventures in the outdoors most definitely is!

Stepping outside of the classroom and into your walking boots can have a hugely positive impact on young people. Whether it's walking up a mountain, taking part in an outdoor activity, or simply just spending time in nature, learning takes on a new meaning when you are truly immersed within it.

What might an outdoor classroom adventure look like?

  • Getting out there – we can create a bespoke day exploring mountains or moorland, or why not plan a few days and camp – for that extra bit of adventure it has to be a wild camp!  It might just be a walk, or we can help keep minds engaged with some skills along the way such as navigation, movement on tricky terrain or campcraft.
  • Educational elements – what better way to learn about geography than being within the landscape itself.  Experience glacial landforms, learn how volcanic activity has formed the valleys you are walking through, follow rivers that have been rewiggled and discover numerous changing terrains and environments.
  • Artistic adventures – let your creativity run wild.  Explore nature with the help of a paintbrush or pencil.  Enjoy a walk across hill, fell and mountain landscapes, taking a break to appreciate and capture everything you see around you with the help and guidance of an artist
  • Stress-free management – we take care of all the planningactivity coordination and on-the-day details.  Our friendly, knowledgeable and qualified team have many years of hands-on (and feet-on) experience of being in the mountains, fells, moors and countryside.
  • Safety and professionalism – we have over 30 years organising, managing and delivering Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions and adventure challenge events. Our professional approach, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, insurance and qualified and experienced staff team, can give you confidence your adventure is in safe hands.
  • All the gear... - need to borrow a rucksack, maybe a tent, a stove?  No problem.  We have a range of equipment and kit you can use.
