Open Silver DofE Expedition packages - what can we offer?

Your Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) will be full of adventure, challenge and learning, with new activities and environments to explore and people to meet.   

Whether you’re joining our Open Silver Expedition alone or with friends, our programmes are designed to be a memorable and rewarding experience, helping you build skills, independence and lasting friendships. 

How do our Open Silver Expeditions work?

You’ll join other participants, forming teams in which you will work together to complete your Silver Award Expedition.    

All participants need to complete a period of training, followed by a Practice and then a Qualifying Expedition 

Our DofE Open Silver Expedition programmes include: 

  • Training / refresher 
  • Practice Expedition
  • Qualifying Expedition 

You can choose to book individual elements or complete the full Expedition experience with us.

Our Open Silver DofE Expeditions take place in some of the UK's most stunning landscapes. Each location is carefully selected to meet DofE Award requirements, ease of access by car and public transport, while providing an inspiring and rewarding outdoor experience.

We're here for you

We understand that joining an Open Expedition on your own can feel really scary. Our friendly team will make sure you feel welcome and part of the group from day one.   

Our instructors will be with you every step of the way as you build friendships through shared challenges and achievements with your group.  We will help you feel confident, prepared and supported throughout your Expedition.  

Before you even book your place, we’re here to help and answer any questions you have.  Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with all of your joining instructions along with a helpful booklet, DofE Guidance for Participants, Parents and Guardians.

What group equipment is available to use?

Preparing for a Duke of Edinburgh Expedition can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to the kit list. Included as standard with our Expedition programmes is the use of our high quality, Expedition-approved equipment.

  • Tents (2 & 3 person)
  • Stoves & fuel 
  • Pans
  • First aid kits 
  • Maps and map cases
  • Group shelters 
  • Coloured rucksack covers 
  • Spare rucksacks and other kit also available
