Brecon Adventure Triathlon
Let the BAT out the cave and challenge yourself
The BAT is made up of a trifecta of adventure, setting the scene for an epic linear exploration of the Brecon National Park. A journey your teammates will not forget in some time, will you work together to reach the finish line?
Event Summary
The Brecon Adventure Triathlon (BAT) comprises of three phases, Hike, Bike and Canoe completing a linear route 27km in the Brecon Beacon National Park.
Participants will be picked up from their hotel and transferred to the start line just South of Brecon. From there, the challenge begins. Hiking the iconic Pen-y-Fan, cycling to the Brecon canal and hitting the water to canoe their final phase.
Finishing up, there is a short hike to the finish line where celebratory drinks and a slap up meal awaits.
Trekking
The hike phase begins up and over the summit of Pen-y-Fan descending down the opposite side to the Storey Arms, the starting point of the gruelling SAS ‘Fan Dance’.
Cycling
Here participants will get on to their bikes and cycle a stunning 10 miles route, mostly downhill, to the Brecon Canal.
Canoeing
Once riders have reached the canal, it'll be time to leave their bikes and board canoes to complete the final stage by paddling down the canal. At the egress point there is a further 30min walk to the finish line.
