This 10 Peak Challenge includes the highest mountain in England and 2500m of ascent. A mighty mission but with the right training, teammates and attitude - achieving this adventure is possible.
Event Summary
A phenomenal team challenge to undertake, that will demand grit, morale and training. Summit 10 stunning peaks over a 17 mile route with your teammates on an unforgettable day in the Lake District. This epic traverse from Buttermere to Langdale is a classic hiking challenge but is certainly not to be underestimated. It is a strenuous route with plenty of undulating ascents and descents.
Classic peaks include Bowfell and Great Gable and Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. Once done, you'll take on the final few peaks and then descend to the finish in Langdale at the conveniently placed pub so you can celebrate your achievements.

The Route
Taking an early breakfast, departure to Buttermere and the start of your challenge will be at approximately 06:00.
- Leg 1: Gatesgarth Farm - Red Pike
- Leg 2: Red Pike - High Stile
- Leg 3: High Stile - High Crag
- Leg 4: High Crag - Green Gable
- Leg 5: Green Gable - Great Gable
- Leg 5: Great Gable - Lingmell
- Leg 6: Lingmell - Scafell Pike
- Leg 7: Scafell Pike - Great End
- Leg 8: Great End - Esk Pike
- Leg 9: Esk Pike - Bow Fell
- Leg 10: Bow Fell - Stool End Farm
The 10 Peaks Challenge is a linear route, starting in the village of Buttermere. Once the first peaks are completed, you'll be heading for the infamous Green Gable and Great Gable - steeped in history and legend. A gruelling descent from Great Gable brings you to Styhead Pass, a real milestone in the challenge. Starting along the Corridor Route you're on your way to the highest point of the challenge: Scafell Pike. Great End, Esk Pike and Bowfell are to follow and then another long descent into Langdale via 'The Band' brings you to the end of the challenge.
At the end of the day you'll be transported back to your accommodation.
