We are absolutely loving seeing the recent successes of women in major sporting events including the London Marathon, Manchester Marathon and Yorkshire Three Peaks race and appreciating the level of dedication, training and determination that each individual puts in to make it happen.
It has been incredibly inspiring to witness women excelling in recent racing events across the board, whether it's triathlons, marathons, or endurance challenges. The increasing visibility of female athletes breaking barriers and shattering records is huge in the way of inspiring the next generation.
From elite athletes dominating the global stage to women from all walks of life crossing the finish line smashing their PBs, their stories resonate with those who have been tuning in. It is amazing to think how far the ripple of inspiration goes with masses watching from the side lines thinking ‘maybe that could be me next year!’. In a once male-dominated sport, not so many years ago, it has been truly exciting seeing more women toeing the start line across the country. And serves as a powerful reminder that passion, hard work, and perseverance are universal qualities, irrespective of gender. With an increasing number of women at our events, we are seeing the change of tide in action and how much it enriches an event for everyone involved.

Wondering who has caught our eye in recent events?
- Nichola Jackson is the female winner of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Race for this year completing the race with a time of 3:19:19 and contending with some chunky ascents!
- Tigst Assefa broke the women's only world record with 2:15:50 in the London Marathon 2025.
- Having completed the Manchester Marathon a total of 5 times, Madhusmita Jena wore her full sari for a 2nd year running. Although this year was said to be a little trickier with the warmer conditions! Incredible effort and brilliant way to honour her heritage.
- And 28-year-old Kelsey Sheridan, along with her assistance dog Hamble, overcame being wheelchair-bound due to CFS/ME, to complete the Manchester Marathon! Just WOW.
Which athletes have you been enjoying watching? In the cycling calendar we have been tuning into the Women's WorldTour as it rolls on showcasing the cycling feats of some of the greats. It’s always inspirational seeing individuals push themselves on whatever scale or stage that might be. That’s why we love what we do so much after all!
